Aware Behavioral Health Accepts Tricare and Provides Psychiatric and Mental Health Services to Current and Former Armed Service Members and their Families in the Dallas-Fort Worth Area
Everyone deserves the best possible mental health services. This is especially true if they’ve served the country, as the effects of those experiences can affect people long after their service is over.
Aware Behavioral Health is a Dallas based psychiatrist proud to accept Tricare, along with other health insurance options such as Atena and Magellan. Perhaps most importantly, we are here for those currently serving, as well as veterans AND their families.
We see patients in person in our Dallas office, and we are available remotely in all of Texas for those that prefer an even more discreet level of care. We have experience not only with PTSD and trauma, but also anxiety, depression, and countless other mental health benefits as well.

About Our Veteran and Military Psychiatrist Services
It’s important to understand that anyone and everyone can go through mental health challenges. Not all of these issues are specific to being a member of the armed forces. We work with patients that struggle with common conditions including, but in no way limited to:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Opioid Use Disorder
- ADHD
- Sexual Dysfunction
- Eating Disorders
- Sleep Disorders, and More
We are strong believers that everyone – men and women of all ages and backgrounds – should have someone they can talk to about their mental health in all settings. We make it a goal of ours to create an open and safe environment for you to share your thoughts and needs.
With that in mind, being a member of the armed services can be stressful. It can be traumatic. It can lead to struggles in your personal and professional life.
We are here to help with all of these challenges, such as:
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) – Unfortunately, one of the most common issues facing those that have served is post-traumatic stress disorder. We know how much it can affect you and your family. We encourage you to reach out if you even suspect it might be an issue, and to know you have a safe, private place to get treatment.
- Insomnia – Similarly, prolonged stress and trauma can have an effect on the ability to fall and stay asleep. Sleep is important for both physical recovery and mental health, and we have solutions that can be used to address these issues.
- Depression – Armed service members (AND their spouses) are sadly considered far more likely to experience depression and suicidal ideation than their non-military peers. Not only do we have medication for depression, but we also have very unique, well researched, and highly effective treatments such as TMS therapy to support long term recovery.
These are only some examples of the issues facing veterans. In all cases, our psychiatric team is available to help. Led by Dr. Surin Sehdev, we feel confident that we can find solutions to help you with your long term recovery.
But it starts with a phone call.
